The researchers cited by the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism have studied the levels of ghrelin, leptin and insulin levels in overweight people who have a diet with low calorie consumption. The data obtained show that insulin levels have little impact on weight, but people following the diet increased their weight by 10% after eight weeks had increased levels of leptin in the blood.
